Natasha Urges Military Action Over Plateau Killings

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has called on Nigeria’s military leadership to take decisive action following the recent killings in Plateau State.

In a post on social media, she directly addressed the Chief of Defence Staff, Christopher Musa, urging him to go beyond assurances and deliver real security results.

“Dear General Christopher Musa… Angwan Rukuba is another brutal reminder that Nigerians remain unprotected.

“During your screening at the Senate chambers, your words were filled with promises, and I allowed myself a sigh of relief… at last, I thought. Well, prove NOW you are different and secure lives, or step aside.

“Enough of condolences. Enough of excuses. Nigerians want action, protection, and results,” she wrote.

Her reaction follows a deadly attack in Jos North LGA, where gunmen reportedly opened fire on residents, killing several people and injuring others.

A resident described the incident:

“The attackers just rode past and started shooting sporadically. People were running in different directions,” he said.

The violence has heightened tension in the area, with protests reported in some communities. In response, Governor Caleb Mutfwang condemned the attack and imposed a 48-hour curfew to restore order.

The incident adds to ongoing security concerns in Plateau and nearby states, where communities continue to face repeated attacks and unrest.
