Iran has warned that it is closely watching any new troop deployments by the United States to the Middle East, amid rising tensions in the region.
The message was delivered by Iran’s parliament speaker, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, in a post shared on X on Wednesday, where he emphasized that Tehran is tracking U.S. military activities closely.
His remarks followed reports that Washington is considering deploying an additional 1,000 to 2,000 troops to the region.
“We are closely monitoring all US movements in the region, particularly troop deployments.
“What the generals have ruined, the soldiers can’t fix; instead, they will become victims of Netanyahu’s crazy ideas.
“Do not question our resolve to defend our land.”
The warning comes after reports by the Associated Press and The New York Times suggested that the U.S. could increase its military presence in the Middle East, adding to the estimated 50,000 troops already stationed there.
The reports also indicated that about 4,500 marines are currently being deployed to the region.
The development signals heightened alert on both sides as geopolitical tensions continue to evolve.
