Iran Targets US Base, Houthis Fire Missile at Israel

Tensions in the Middle East escalated overnight as Iran-backed Houthi rebels launched their first missile toward Israel since the conflict began, while Iran also targeted a U.S. military base in Saudi Arabia.

Israel said it intercepted the missile from Yemen, with the Houthis claiming responsibility and warning of continued attacks on “sensitive Israeli military positions.”

Iran also fired missiles and drones at Prince Sultan Air Base, injuring at least 15 U.S. troops. The strike marked one of the most direct attacks on American forces since the crisis began.

Elsewhere, drones hit an airport in Kuwait, while Iran said it targeted a U.S. vessel near Oman. In the UAE, falling debris from intercepted missiles injured several people.

Air raid sirens and explosions were reported across Israel, as fighting also intensified in southern Lebanon, where over 1,100 people have been killed.

Meanwhile, Pakistan said it plans to “host a quadrilateral meeting on Monday” with Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Turkey in an effort to contain the growing conflict.
