ICPC to Arraign El-Rufai Over Fraud Charges

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has announced that former Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, alongside Joel Adoga, will be arraigned before the Federal High Court in the Kaduna Judicial Division on Tuesday, March 24, 2026.

This was disclosed in a notice signed on Monday by the Commission’s Head of Media and Public Communications, John Okor Odey.

The case, marked FHC/KD/73/2026, includes charges such as the conversion and possession of public property, as well as money laundering.

According to the notice, a separate charge has also been filed against El-Rufai and Amadu Sule (LEDA) at the Kaduna State High Court under case number KDH/KAD/ICPC/01/26.

The allegations in this case include abuse of office, fraud, intent to commit fraud, and conferring undue advantage, among other offences.

Both cases were instituted by the ICPC on March 18, 2026.

While the date for El-Rufai’s arraignment at the State High Court is yet to be announced, the Commission confirmed that he has been properly served.

The ICPC reaffirmed its commitment to upholding due process and the rule of law in the prosecution of its cases.
