The Federal Government has declared Friday, April 3, and Monday, April 6, 2026, as public holidays in observance of this year’s Easter celebration.
The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who extended his congratulations to Christians across Nigeria and in the diaspora.
He encouraged citizens to reflect on and practice the core values of selflessness, forgiveness, patience, and love, as exemplified by Jesus Christ, whose teachings remain central to the Christian faith.
Tunji-Ojo also urged Nigerians to uphold tolerance, unity, and peaceful coexistence, noting that these values are essential for maintaining harmony in the country’s diverse society.
The minister reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to policies aimed at driving national renewal, economic growth, and shared prosperity for all citizens.
He concluded by wishing Christians a peaceful and joyful Easter celebration.
