FCT Police Roll Out Transport Scheme for Personnel

The Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, has assured officers and personnel of the launch of a new welfare transport initiative aimed at easing commuting challenges within the command.

The scheme, approved by the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, is designed to improve staff welfare and operational efficiency.

In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, the initiative is “aimed at enhancing personnel welfare and addressing transportation challenges, will commence operations on Monday, 27th April, 2026”.

Under the scheme, three Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered buses have been deployed to operate along designated routes across Abuja and its surrounding areas.

She explained that the “first bus, with registration number NPF 7993 D, will operate from the Goshen, Auta-Balefi axis, passing through Masaka, Mararaba, and Nyanya, and terminating at Area 11 Force Headquarters, Abuja.

“The second bus, with registration number NPF 7994 D, will take off from Zuba Divisional Headquarters, moving through Madalla, Abubakar Police Barracks, Brick City, Kubwa, Dutse Junction, and the Secretariat, also terminating at Area 11 Force Headquarters.

“The third bus, with registration number NPF 7992 D, will operate from Kuje Divisional Headquarters, covering Kuje Police Barracks, Airport Road, Lugbe, and the Stadium axis, terminating at Area 11 Force Headquarters.

“All buses are scheduled to depart their respective take-off points daily at 0615 hours (6:15 AM).”

The Commissioner of Police commended the Inspector-General for introducing the initiative, describing it as a reflection of a strong commitment to improving the welfare and working conditions of officers.

“He urged officers and men of the Command to take full advantage of the scheme, emphasizing that improved welfare is directly linked to enhanced service delivery, discipline, and operational efficiency”.
