Renewed clashes between the Chobo and Bachaman communities in the Lamurde Local Government Area of Adamawa State have tragically resulted in the deaths of two individuals.
SP Suleiman Nguroje, the spokesperson for the Adamawa State Police Command, confirmed that the crisis began on Saturday night.
Nguroje stated that the command received a report indicating that suspected Chobo youths had invaded Lamurde town, firing shots indiscriminately, which prompted Bachaman youths to gather and confront them.
Consequently, he explained that heavily armed police officers have been deployed to the area to restore peace and order among the affected communities.
The spokesperson added that the command has not yet received the complete casualty report, assuring that any new developments will be communicated immediately.
“The two victims were killed in the early hours of Sunday while on their way to church,” he explained.
