Troops operating under Sector 1 of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have thwarted a suspected terrorist attack in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, reinforcing ongoing security operations in the region.
The incident was brought to public attention by security analyst Zagazola Makama, who shared details in a post on X on Thursday, citing information from security sources.
According to the report, the attack took place at about 4:30 p.m. on April 29 in Jarhawa village, where suspected terrorists reportedly launched an assault targeting civilians.
Troops stationed at the Forward Operating Base in Sabon Birni were said to have reacted promptly after receiving a distress call from the affected area. Acting quickly, the soldiers mobilised and advanced toward the scene.
Upon sighting the approaching troops, the attackers reportedly abandoned their operation and fled, avoiding direct confrontation with the military.
During a follow-up assessment, one civilian was discovered with gunshot wounds and was immediately given medical attention.
Security sources confirmed that the situation has since been brought under control, with troops maintaining presence in the area to ensure stability.
Efforts are ongoing to track and apprehend the fleeing suspects, as part of broader measures to prevent further attacks and safeguard residents in the community.
