Kaduna Police Arrest 5 Suspected Kidnapping Informants, Rescue 3 Victims

The Kaduna State Police Command has arrested five suspected informants accused of assisting kidnapping gangs operating in the state.

According to the police, investigations revealed that the suspects allegedly supplied intelligence and logistical support to kidnappers, helping them carry out their activities.

The arrests came as security operatives successfully rescued three kidnap victims who had spent more than 40 days in captivity.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, said the operation was conducted by a joint security team from Fushin Kada in collaboration with the Divisional Police Officer in Hunkuyi.

The operation followed intelligence gathering, surveillance, and coordinated security efforts that led officers to a suspected bandits’ hideout.

“Upon sighting the advancing security personnel, the bandits fled the area, abandoning the victims who were subsequently rescued unharmed,” he said.

The rescued victims were identified as Ekechikwu Omale, Ummi Salisu from Kudan Local Government Area of Kaduna State, and Pastor Daniel Tanko Bawa from Tufa Village in Niger State.

Police said the victims received medical attention before being reunited with their families.

Kaduna State Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Muhammad, praised the officers and security agencies involved in the operation, describing it as a testament to effective collaboration in the fight against crime.

He reaffirmed the command’s determination to combat kidnapping and other violent crimes while encouraging residents to continue sharing useful information with security agencies.
