Operatives of Sector 1 under Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) have successfully disrupted a kidnapping attempt and rescued two individuals in Konshisha Local Government Area of Benue State.
The incident took place on April 24 at approximately 8:19 a.m. in Agidi community, where suspected kidnappers were reportedly in the process of carrying out their operation. According to security sources, the situation was brought under control following a rapid response by troops who received a distress call from the area.
Acting without delay, the operatives mobilized and advanced to the location, forcing the suspected kidnappers to abandon their plan.
“On sighting the troops, the kidnappers abandoned the victims and fled into nearby bushes,” the source said.
The swift intervention led to the safe rescue of the victims, who were subsequently reunited with their families without harm.
Security officials noted that timely intelligence and rapid deployment played a crucial role in the success of the operation.
