Troops Engage Terrorists, Kill Two in Zamfara

Troops operating under Operation Fansan Yamma have neutralised two suspected terrorists during a patrol in Anka Local Government Area, as security forces intensify efforts to curb criminal activities in the region.

According to security sources who spoke to Zagazola Makama, the incident occurred around 10:20 a.m. on May 3. The operation involved troops from the 1 Brigade Counter-Terrorism Unit (CT 6), supported by a Quick Reaction Force.

The troops were said to have acted on credible intelligence regarding the movement of suspected terrorists along the Bagega–Anka road. Upon interception, the suspects engaged the soldiers, resulting in an exchange of gunfire.

Sources confirmed that two of the suspects were killed during the confrontation, while a motorcycle believed to belong to the group was recovered at the scene.

Following the operation, security personnel have maintained control of the area to prevent further criminal activity and ensure stability.
