Troops Arrest 3 Suspected Cultists in Ebonyi, Recover Pistol

Troops of Operation UDO KA have arrested three suspected cult members and recovered a locally made pistol following a rapid response to a distress call at the Federal University Ndufu-Alike, Ikwo in Ebonyi State.

The development was disclosed by security analyst Zagazola Makama, who cited security sources on the operation.

According to the report, troops stationed at the Forward Operating Base in Ikwo carried out the operation around 9:25 p.m. on March 25 after receiving information from the university’s Chief Security Officer about suspected cult-related gunshots within the campus.

The troops were said to have moved swiftly to the scene, where they arrested three suspects found with knives and scissors.

During preliminary questioning, the suspects reportedly revealed that another accomplice was in possession of a firearm.

“Acting on the information, troops proceeded to the suspect’s accommodation; however, he was said to have fled before their arrival.

“A subsequent search of the room led to the recovery of one locally made pistol, concealed inside a handbag placed in the suspect’s wardrobe,” he stated.

Efforts are ongoing to track down the fleeing suspect, while the three arrested individuals remain in custody for further investigation and possible prosecution.
