Security Forces Intercept Explosives Meant for Bandits in Zamfara

Security forces in Zamfara State say they have intercepted a suspected logistics route used by bandits in Maru Local Government Area.

The operation, carried out by the Zamfara State Community Protection Guard, led to the arrest of a driver allegedly transporting 98 explosive devices believed to be headed for criminal groups.

Details of the development were shared by security analyst Bakatsine, who noted that additional items linked to the network were also recovered during the operation.

“Authorities also recovered N13,352,500 in cash and two new motorcycles believed to support the operation. Officials describe the seizure as a significant breakthrough in efforts to curb banditry in the region,” he shared on X.

While authorities have yet to release further details about those involved, the analyst described the intervention as a decisive move against criminal activity in the area.

The seizure is expected to disrupt operations of armed groups and weaken their supply chain within the Zamfara axis.
