The Lagos State Task Force has dismissed viral claims that its officers are stationed around Sheraton Link Bridge and Toyin Street to arrest motorists making turns.
The warning, circulated by an unidentified source, advised drivers to avoid those routes, alleging that officials were waiting to apprehend violators.
Reacting to the claims, the agency’s Director of Public Affairs, Gbadeyan Abdulraheem, described the information as false and misleading.
He clarified that the Task Force is currently not carrying out traffic enforcement, following a directive issued by the Commissioner of Police, Fatai Tijani, on April 1, 2026.
According to him, recent operations have focused strictly on environmental enforcement and tackling suspected criminal activity.
Residents were advised to ignore the circulating message, while the agency reiterated its commitment to lawful operations.
The Task Force also warned that anyone impersonating its officers or conducting illegal enforcement activities would be arrested and prosecuted.
