Three individuals have been arrested in Ondo State for allegedly attacking and disarming a female police officer in Agadagba community.
The suspects Amos Ajemigi, Tari Ofoezu, and Lots Alonge—are accused of forcibly taking a service riot gun and other personal items from the officer, identified as Ige Olayinka.
Olayinka, an inspector attached to the Okitipupa Area Command, was reportedly on official duty in the community following a petition assigned for investigation when the incident occurred.
Confirming the arrest, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Abayomi Jimoh, condemned the attack, describing it as a direct challenge to lawful authority and a threat to public safety.
He stated that the command maintains a strict stance against any form of violence directed at law enforcement officers while performing their duties.
“The arrests followed a swift and intelligence-driven operation launched by operatives of the command in response to a violent incident.
“Preliminary findings revealed that the officer was violently assaulted by a group of individuals while carrying out her lawful assignment.
