4 Injured in Lagos Commercial Bus Accident

At least four passengers have been injured following a road accident involving a commercial bus along Oba Ogunusi Road in the Ojodu area of Lagos State on Sunday morning.

The incident occurred opposite Babs Fafunwa School, along the route heading toward Victoria Island. The vehicle involved was a 14-seater yellow commercial bus, and no other vehicle was reported to have been part of the crash.

According to the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), initial findings suggest that the accident may have been caused by brake failure, which resulted in the driver losing control and the vehicle veering off the road into a roadside ditch.

“Approximately four occupants sustained severe injuries and have been evacuated to the Emergency Centre at Toll Gate,” the agency said in a statement shared on its official X handle.

LASTMA explained that its operatives responded swiftly to the scene, coordinating rescue efforts and ensuring that the situation was brought under control. Arrangements were also made to remove the damaged vehicle from the roadside.

“Recovery operations remain ongoing, and there is currently no effect on traffic flow,” the agency added.
