Toyin Abraham Tells Fans to Forgive Abike Shugaa

Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has called on her supporters, popularly known as “Toyin Titans,” to refrain from attacking her former protégé, Pelumi Olawuni, as tensions between the two continue to play out publicly.

In a short video shared on Snapchat on Monday, the actress addressed her followers directly, urging them to let go of the controversy and adopt a more forgiving approach.

“Please, to everybody, it’s okay. Please forgive her,” Toyin said, pausing intermittently as she spoke.

She acknowledged that anger is a natural reaction but emphasized the importance of moving on without prolonging the conflict.

“There is no one that cannot get angry. Even Jesus was angry… let everything slide. This is a new week. Toyin Titans, no distractions, please,” she added.

Tyoin also encouraged her fans to shift their attention toward her upcoming work, noting that she has several projects in the pipeline.

“We have a big task ahead of us. We have a lot of YouTube movies coming, and we have a bigger task ahead of us in December,” she said.

Reflecting on past experiences, the actress referenced the intense backlash she faced during a previous controversy tied to her support for Bola Tinubu.

“For those asking why I didn’t spill the tea in 2023 and 2024… they were bashing me that period, they wanted to kill me,” she said.

She indicated that recent events have influenced her perspective on relationships and personal boundaries, suggesting a shift in how she intends to engage going forward.

“You said create boundaries, I will create boundaries. You said I should stop helping people, no problem. I have learnt my lesson, her too has learnt hers. Let it slide, let us change the topic,” she added.

The appeal comes amid ongoing developments involving Abike Shugaa, who recently disclosed that YouTube had flagged portions of her video discussing the fallout for potential privacy concerns.

According to her, the platform identified specific timestamps and offered the option to edit or remove the content before further review, without issuing any strikes or penalties.

In response, Abike reacted sarcastically, suggesting that the report may have been driven by coordinated efforts to flag the video.

The rift between the two became public after Abike shared a detailed account of their relationship in a YouTube video, outlining her experiences from early mentorship to the eventual breakdown. She alleged issues including control, betrayal, and threats—claims that Toyin has denied.

The situation escalated further after Abike accepted a promotional package from Funke Akindele for her project “A Tribe Called Judah,” a move she said had been communicated in advance.

While Abike maintains that she is simply sharing her perspective after years of silence, Toyin has chosen not to engage in a detailed public response, instead urging calm and focusing on moving forward.
