Nollywood star Tonto Dikeh has taken a moment to honor herself this Mother’s Day, looking back at her path as a parent and celebrating the strength she has shown through the years.
On her Instagram page, the actress shared words of praise for her own endurance during tough times and for her refusal to quit, even when walking away might have been the simpler choice.
In a deeply personal post, Dikeh expressed pride in her ability to keep showing up with bravery, faith, and a strong will, despite any obstacles in her way.
“Happy Mother’s Day to me. For never giving up, even on the days it would have been easier to walk away. For always showing up, with courage, faith and determination,” she wrote.
She also gave herself credit for holding onto her sense of purpose when she felt overwhelmed by uncertainty, noting that she has committed to self-love and continuous personal improvement.
“For believing in myself when doubt tried to speak louder than purpose. For choosing to love myself, to grow, and to keep becoming,” she added.
Dikeh went on to say that she has taken charge of her own life by changing her narrative and refusing to let her beginnings limit her potential.
“For rewriting my story, refusing to be defined by where I started, but by the strength, grace and faith that continue to shape where I am going.”
She also highlighted her devotion to her spiritual life, stating that she serves God with confidence and remains steadfast in her beliefs.
“Today I honour my strength, my resilience, my faith and my journey. God bless me for being me,” she wrote.
In another update for the day, the actress shared a clip of herself with her dog while expressing appreciation for her former husband, Olakunle Churchill, for the gift of motherhood.
Dikeh described being a mother as the most rewarding part of her life, sharing her gratitude for her son and offering prayers for Churchill and his mother.
Answering those who questioned her public message to her ex, the actress insisted that Churchill is the only man who has made her a mother and stated she won’t let others’ opinions influence her life.
Dikeh and Churchill have a son together who recently celebrated his 10th birthday.
To mark the big occasion, the former couple organized a football-themed celebration for their son at the BMO Event Centre in Abuja, surrounded by loved ones.
The actress also made news by giving her son a duplex worth N350 million as a birthday present.
Reflecting on the gift, Dikeh mentioned that she has been very deliberate about investing in real estate for herself and her son over the years, thanking God for the ability to do so.
This isn’t the first time she has gone all out for her son; in 2021, she reportedly gave him two acres of land and even had a star named after him for his birthday.
