Tacha Slams OAU Student for Forgiving False Rape Accuser

Reality TV star Tacha has criticised Ojuko Adefesobi David, a student of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), for forgiving a fellow student who falsely accused him of rape, describing the decision as “weak.”

The controversy began when David was accused by another OAU student, Adewale Adeife, who posted on her WhatsApp status that he was a rapist. The allegation quickly spread across social media platforms and group chats.

David later explained that the misunderstanding started after he shared his opinion on the trending Mirabel case, which led to online backlash, with Adeife eventually labeling him a rapist.

Following the allegation, David’s lawyers, Anekwe & Associates, demanded a written apology, a full retraction of the defamatory statements, and N15 million in damages.

The law firm described the claim as “malicious, reckless, and without any factual foundation,” adding that the widespread circulation of the accusation had subjected David to sustained harassment, reputational harm, and loss of business opportunities.

In response, Adeife later issued a public apology in a video, acknowledging that she acted impulsively.

“He is never a rapist. I’ve never caught him raping anybody. So, I am sorry, David, I’m sorry for calling you a rapist, and this is just to clear the air. He is not a rapist. David is not a rapist.”

Despite the incident, David chose to forgive his accuser, saying the decision was influenced by appeals from respected individuals and his parents, as well as the reflective spirit of Lent and Ramadan.

He also shared the apology letter publicly to ensure transparency and thanked friends, his lawyer, and supporters for standing by him during the ordeal.

However, Tacha expressed strong disapproval of his decision. Writing on X (Twitter), she said:

“I genuinely dislike WEAK people. Someone literally tried to ruin your life and failed, and you still chose to play ‘forgive and forget.’ I hate weak people.”
