Ruger Regrets Missing Movie Role From Funke Akindele

Afrobeats singer, Ruger has shared details of a missed career opportunity involving Funke Akindele, describing the incident as one of the most regrettable moments in his professional journey.

During a conversation with VJ Adams, the Afrobeats artist recounted how he became aware of Akindele’s appreciation for his music and considered reaching out to express his gratitude.

However, upon checking his messages, he discovered that the filmmaker had earlier contacted him with an offer to feature in one of her productions—an opportunity he had inadvertently overlooked.

The realisation came after the window for participation had passed, leaving the singer with a lasting sense of regret. He acknowledged that the missed message remains a particularly painful memory.

“I am interested in acting and wouldn’t mind going into the movie industry. I once missed a DM from Funke Akindele for a movie role. I didn’t even see it on time. That one still pains me,” he said.

Despite this setback, Ruger indicated a continued interest in exploring opportunities within the film industry. He noted, however, that transitioning into acting may present certain personal challenges, particularly given the demands of film production.

“However, I think acting would be difficult for me because I don’t like shooting. But I would get into character still. If my character is interesting, yeah,” he added.
