BBNaija’s Angel Affirms Queer Identity After Wedding Reports

Reality TV star Angel Smith has reaffirmed her identity following reports of her wedding to her partner, Tumininu, in the United States.

Reacting to the public discussion, the former Big Brother Naija finalist took to X to clarify her stance, writing:

“And I have been openly queer before AND after I went for that show, please never attribute my greatness to a man, he could never have made me this cool, thangyaaaaa.”

Her statement follows the circulation of photos and videos from an intimate wedding ceremony reportedly held in the U.S., attended by close friends and family. The event featured a minimalist setup with an “all black” dress theme for guests.

In clips shared online, Tumininu appeared in a black suit with a bow tie and floral detail, while Angel wore a simple white strapless mini dress paired with a veil and heels.

The couple had gone public with their relationship in 2025 and are believed to have held a civil ceremony earlier in the year.

Angel’s comments have since sparked mixed reactions on social media, with debates focusing on her sexuality and public identity.

Before this, she was linked to fellow reality TV star Soma Anyama, a relationship that began during the 2023 All Stars edition and ended in early 2024.

She first rose to fame on the 2021 “Shine Ya Eye” season of Big Brother Naija and has since established herself as a prominent voice in Nigeria’s entertainment scene.
