The organisers of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) have unveiled nominees for the 12th edition, set to hold on May 9, 2026.
The announcement was made during a live broadcast hosted by Chimezie Imo. This year features 32 categories, including jury-voted, audience-voted, and special awards like Lifetime Achievement.
Veteran actress Joke Silva has been named Head Judge, taking over from Femi Odugbemi.
Top nominees include Lateef Adedimeji, Femi Adebayo, Funke Akindele, Sola Sobowale, and Mike Ezuruonye.
Films like Gingerrr, The Herd, and My Father’s Shadow are competing for Best Overall Movie, alongside other major categories celebrating Africa’s film and digital content industry.
