800 Nigerians Deported from Niger Republic, Arrive Katsina Border in Buses

A team of Nigerian security operatives has received about 800 Nigerian deportees from the Niger Republic at the Jibia-Magama border in Katsina State.

GoNew had reported earlier that, The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) on March 24, 2026 received 708 stranded Nigerians who were evacuated from Niamey in the Niger Republic.

According to an operational report made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday, the deportees made up of men, women, and children arrived at about 9:30 a.m. in eight buses.

The report stated, “The returnees are currently undergoing profiling by officials from the Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigeria Customs Service, the Police, and other intelligence agencies.”

It explained that the process is aimed at ensuring proper documentation and security screening of all deportees.

After the profiling exercise, the returnees will be transported to Kano State for further necessary action.
