The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has announced that 41 vessels, laden with petroleum products, food items, and various other goods, are expected to arrive at Lagos ports between March 10 and March 16.
This information was released on Tuesday through the authority’s daily “Shipping Position” report, which was made available to journalists in Lagos.
According to the NPA, these incoming ships are anticipated to berth at the Apapa, Tin Can Island, and Lekki Deep Sea ports.
Seventeen of these vessels are scheduled to discharge containers filled with assorted goods, while the remaining 24 ships will carry bulk items such as urea, crude oil, petrol, fresh fish, bitumen, crude palm oil, and gypsum.
The authority further reported that eight ships and tankers have already reached the ports and are currently awaiting berthing to offload petrol, general cargo, bulk urea, fertilizers, and containerized goods.
Currently, 22 vessels are in the process of discharging cargo, including bulk wheat, salt, sugar, urea, gypsum, fresh fish, and various containerized items, across the three ports.
The NPA reiterated its commitment to ensuring smooth port operations and the timely handling of cargo to bolster trade and commerce within the country.
