Victor Osimhen has showered praise on his Galatasaray teammate Barış Alper Yılmaz following the club’s 4-2 victory over Antalyaspor on Saturday.
The win secured the Turkish Super Lig title for Galatasaray S.K., with Osimhen playing a key role during the campaign.
Speaking during a live broadcast on his social media account after the match, the Nigerian striker described Yılmaz as a hardworking and physically strong player with a relentless mentality.
“Barış Alper Yılmaz plays just like an African footballer. Ambition, fight. Very hungry, very strong,” Osimhen said.
The Super Eagles forward also revealed that he had earlier spoken to former teammate Dries Mertens about Yılmaz shortly after arriving at Galatasaray.
“I said to Mertens, ‘Dude, this guy plays like an African player, do you realize that?’ Because we Africans never stop,” he added.
Osimhen concluded by describing Yılmaz as “a true warrior” for his energy and fighting spirit on the pitch.
