Arjen Robben has warned against underestimating Real Madrid ahead of their Champions League quarter-final second leg clash with Bayern Munich.
Despite Bayern’s 2-1 first-leg victory at the Santiago Bernabeu, Robben stressed that Madrid’s experience and composure make them a dangerous opponent.
“You can never write off Real,” he said, praising the Spanish side’s ability to remain calm under pressure.
Still, the Dutchman believes Bayern hold the edge going into the decisive encounter, pointing to the squad’s overall quality and match-winning individuals.
“But I believe that Bayern are the better team. They also have very good individual players who can decide a match,” Robben added.
He cautioned, however, that Bayern must stay focused throughout the game to secure qualification.
“You obviously have to be careful about that. You have to be on your toes for the full 95 minutes.
“If Bayern can manage that, then as far as I’m concerned, there is only one team that will win.”
