Arsenal Confirm Marli Salmon Pre-Contract Deal

Arsenal FC have confirmed that young defender Marli Salmon has signed a pre-contract agreement that will see him commit his future to the club.

The announcement was made in a statement published on the club’s official website on Tuesday, with the agreement set to transition into a professional contract when the player turns 17 in August.

Salmon, an England Under-16 international, joined Arsenal’s academy at the age of nine in July 2019 and has since developed through the ranks at Hale End, the club’s renowned youth setup.

His steady progress has not gone unnoticed, as he was selected by first-team manager Mikel Arteta to be part of Arsenal’s pre-season tour of Singapore and Hong Kong.

The young defender made his unofficial debut during the tour, featuring in Arsenal’s 1-0 victory over AC Milan in Singapore.

Speaking after signing the pre-agreement, Salmon expressed his pride at reaching a significant milestone in his career.

“It is a very big moment for me, for my family as well. I’m very proud.”
