Former Kogi West Senator, Dino Melaye, has characterized ex-Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, as a remarkable individual who, despite his qualities, cannot become Nigeria’s President.
Speaking on Channels Television on Thursday, Melaye firmly asserted that Obi lacks the necessary attributes to unify Nigeria.
Obi has consistently reiterated his intention to run for the presidential election in 2027.
“But let me even tell you, Peter Obi is a fantastic Nigerian. I have tremendous respect for him, and I’ve said it before, he is a fantastic person, but this is not his time to be President,” Melaye stated.
It is worth recalling that Dino Melaye, after concluding his tenure at the National Assembly, contested the Kogi State gubernatorial election under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), but ultimately lost to the incumbent governor, Ahmed Ododo.
