Zulum Dissolves Borno Executive Council Ahead of Elections

The governor of Borno State, Babagana Umara Zulum, has approved the immediate dissolution of the State Executive Council.

This move is intended to allow cabinet members who are interested in participating in the upcoming general elections to do so without constraints.

According to a statement released on Monday by the Secretary to the State Government, Bukar Tijani, the decision is aimed at creating a more supportive environment for political engagement.

As part of the directive, all commissioners have been instructed to transfer responsibilities of their ministries to their respective Permanent Secretaries no later than Friday, April 3, 2026.

Governor Zulum also extended his gratitude to the outgoing commissioners, acknowledging their hard work, dedication, and valuable contributions toward the growth and service of Borno State.
