Wike Announces FCT Bus/Taxi Terminals to Begin Operations

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has announced that the FCT Bus and Taxi Terminals will soon commence operations following approval by the Federal Executive Council (FEC).

Wike made this known in Abuja on Friday after inspecting several ongoing projects, including the Mabushi Bus Terminal Road, which is designed to provide access to the facility.

He expressed satisfaction that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the FEC had approved the management of the Mabushi and Kugbo bus terminals under a Public-Private Partnership arrangement.

The minister explained that although the terminals were completed and inaugurated in 2025, operations were delayed because their management structure required FEC approval.

“We had to go to the FEC and now the management had been approved.

“The management team was with me today and they are putting processes in place to see that they commence operation soon.

“I am happy that, although we have waited for this long, the waiting will be over in the next one or three weeks,” he said.

Speaking on other inspected projects, Wike expressed satisfaction with the progress and quality of work on the Mabushi Bus Terminal Road, noting that it is on track.

He added that the road is expected to be inaugurated as part of activities marking Tinubu’s third anniversary in office.

Wike also praised the quality of work on Arterial Road N1, linking Wuye District to Ring Road II, expressing confidence that the project will be completed and delivered before the end of the year.

He emphasised that residents of the FCT deserve top-quality infrastructure, adding that the Tinubu administration remains committed to delivering improved services and development across the territory.
