Tinubu Swears in Muttaqha Darma as Housing Minister

President Bola Tinubu has officially sworn in Muttaqha Darma as the new Minister of Housing and Urban Development, following his confirmation by the Senate.

Darma, who is from Katsina State, takes over from Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, who recently resigned from the position.

The announcement was made in a statement issued by Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Senior Special Assistant on Information and Strategy.

During the swearing-in, Tinubu congratulated the new minister and expressed confidence in his ability to contribute meaningfully to national development, particularly at a time when the country faces significant housing and urban development challenges.

“You have a very rich and interesting background. As a leader, we need competent hands like yours.

“There is no doubt that you have rendered valuable services in all the assignments you have embarked upon; You are a fitting peg in the right position,” he said.

The President further encouraged Darma to remain adaptable and committed to service, noting the importance of readiness in handling national responsibilities.

The appointment comes as part of ongoing efforts by the administration to strengthen leadership across key sectors and address developmental priorities within the housing and urban planning space.
