Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has extended warm birthday wishes to Bola Ahmed Tinubu as he marks his 74th anniversary, describing him as a patriotic and compassionate leader.
In a statement issued on Saturday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, the governor praised Tinubu as a visionary and focused statesman whose leadership has driven development, economic growth, and renewed confidence in governance.
Sanwo-Olu described the President as a rare personality whose contributions to national development remain significant, noting his lasting impact across politics, governance, and the economy.
He highlighted Tinubu’s role in shaping modern Lagos, as well as his influence across the South-West and Nigeria as a whole, describing his leadership as instrumental in transforming the region.
“On behalf of my wife, Ibijoke, my family, the government and people of Lagos State, as well as leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress in Lagos, I congratulate our National Leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on his 74th birthday,” Sanwo-Olu said.
The governor further described Tinubu as a seasoned democrat who has dedicated much of his life to public service, adding that his governance record reflects a strong commitment to national progress.
“President Tinubu is an enigmatic, tested and trusted politician whose democratic credentials and governance style underscore his dedication to building a better Nigeria,” he said.
Sanwo-Olu also noted the President’s commitment to inclusive leadership and national unity, pointing to the impact of policies under his Renewed Hope Agenda on citizens across the country.
He credited Tinubu with laying the foundation for modern Lagos during his tenure as governor in the early years of the Fourth Republic, a legacy he said continues to position the state as a model for others.
“As President, he has shown courage, integrity, and patriotism in steering the nation through complex challenges, implementing bold reforms aimed at addressing economic issues and improving the lives of Nigerians,” he added.
The governor concluded by praying for continued strength, wisdom, and good health for the President as he continues to lead the country toward greater political and economic progress.
