PSC Fixes April 28–30 for Police Constable Exam

The Police Service Commission (PSC), in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), has announced April 28 to 30, 2026, as the dates for the written examination for candidates seeking enlistment as Police Constables under both General Duty and Specialist categories.

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Thursday by the Head of Protocol and Public Affairs of the commission, Torty Njoku Kalu, who confirmed that the examination will take place at designated centres across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

According to the commission, only candidates who successfully passed the earlier stages of physical and credential screening will be eligible to sit for the examination.

Qualified applicants have been directed to access the recruitment portal from Friday, April 24, 2026, to print their Examination Invitation Card. The document will contain essential details such as the candidate’s examination date, time, and venue.

The commission outlined specific requirements for the examination, including the need for candidates to come with a writing pen, a National Identification Number (NIN) slip issued by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) bearing a clear photograph, and a printed copy of their invitation card.

Applicants are also expected to adhere strictly to the prescribed dress code, which includes white shorts, a white T-shirt, and white canvas shoes.

Reiterating its stance on transparency, the commission emphasised that the recruitment process is entirely free of charge. It warned applicants to avoid engaging with individuals or groups demanding payment in exchange for assistance, stressing that any form of job racketeering or financial inducement would be met with legal consequences.

The announcement forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the recruitment process and ensure fairness and credibility in the selection of new personnel into the police force.
