NSCDC Kwara Commandant Vows to Tackle Insecurity

Abbas Nda Mohammed, the newly appointed Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kwara State, has pledged decisive action against insecurity, particularly in the state’s northern and southern senatorial districts.

He warned criminal elements to leave the state or face strict enforcement of the law, while outlining plans to strengthen operations, improve intelligence gathering, and deepen collaboration with key stakeholders.

Speaking during his first engagement with journalists in Ilorin, Mohammed expressed appreciation for the media’s role in promoting public awareness and supporting security efforts.

He confirmed that he has assumed duty as the 16th substantive state commandant, describing the role as both an honour and a responsibility.

Highlighting areas of concern, he said, “we know that Kwara North and South Senatorial Districts have security challenges in the state.

“I intend to deploy many security officers from the headquarters down to the troubled spots.

“I have also activated our tactical units for immediate quick response in Kaiama and Oro-Ago axis in the Kwara North and South Senatorial Districts,” he added.

Mohammed reiterated the Corps’ commitment to protecting lives and infrastructure, while calling for continued collaboration with other agencies and the public.
