The Nigerian Air Force, NAF, has conducted a coordinated air strike targeting terrorist positions in Guduf, an area within the Mandara Mountains, as part of ongoing counter-terrorism operations under Operation Hadin Kai.
The Mandara Mountains, which stretch along the northeastern border between Nigeria and Cameroon, span parts of Adamawa and Borno states and have long been identified as a strategic hideout for insurgent groups.
Details of the operation were contained in a statement released on Tuesday and signed by the Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF Headquarters, Ehimen Ejodame.
According to the statement, the air strike was carried out on April 27, 2026, following credible intelligence supported by confirmatory Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) reports.
Ejodame said NAF air assets “executed a coordinated operation that identified multiple terrorist structures and logistics hubs actively supporting insurgent activities within the area,” adding that the mission was conducted with precision and in strict adherence to established rules of engagement.
He further explained that the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI utilised precision targeting to engage and neutralise hostile elements and their infrastructure, while maintaining “due regard for the protection of civilians and the surrounding environment.”
The Nigerian Air Force stated that the strike successfully destroyed key terrorist structures and logistics hubs within the enclave, which it described as a known insurgent hideout in the Mandara Mountains. The operation, it said, significantly disrupted the operational capacity of the affected network.
