NAF Strikes Terrorist Hideout in Katsina, Kills Several

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has intensified its counterterrorism operations with a precision airstrike targeting a suspected terrorist enclave in Katsina State.

The operation, conducted on May 1 under the Air Component of Operation Fansan Yamma, focused on a location within the Dan-Aji Forest in Faskari Local Government Area.

The area is believed to serve as a logistics hub for a terrorist group led by a figure identified as Abasu Aiki, with activities spanning parts of Faskari, Kankara, and Funtua.

In a statement issued in Abuja, the Director of Public Relations and Information for the NAF, Ehimen Ejodame, said the strike was prompted by intelligence indicating renewed activity in the area.

“NAF air assets identified armed terrorists on motorcycles alongside other fighters within the enclave and executed a coordinated strike on the location.

“Battle damage assessment confirmed that several terrorists were neutralised, while the logistics hub and associated structures were destroyed,” he said.

According to Ejodame, the operation resulted in explosions and widespread fires, significantly damaging the group’s operational capacity and limiting its ability to move or resupply.

He noted that the successful strike highlights the Air Force’s ongoing commitment to eliminating terrorist safe havens and dismantling their networks across the region.
