The National Business and Technical Examinations Board, NABTEB, has fixed deadlines for registration for the 2026 May/June In-School Certificate Examinations and the National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE).
The announcement was made by the Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of NABTEB, Dr Mohammed Aminu Mohammed, in a statement issued on Wednesday through the board’s Assistant Director of Media and Protocol, Mr Uchechukwu Olisah.
According to the statement, registration for the examinations is already ongoing across the country. The board explained that the registration process has been streamlined through dedicated online portals to make it easier and more convenient for schools and candidates.
Mohammed stated that schools registering candidates for the May/June In-School examinations are expected to obtain registration slots from their respective state offices. Schools are also required to capture candidates’ biometric details using the NABTEB Biometric Software before completing the registration on the official portal.
“Also, for the May/June (In-school) registration, schools are expected to obtain login details through the State Office, log into the School Portal, make payment, and complete registration through school.nabteb.gov.ng,” he said.
For candidates seeking admission through the National Common Entrance Examination, the NABTEB boss explained that applicants are to request Personal Identification Numbers (PINs) from state offices before proceeding with registration through the designated online portal.
“Similarly, candidates seeking registration for the National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE) are to request Personal Identification Numbers (PINs) through the State Offices, complete registration on the Common Entrance Portal, and finalise the process through commonentrance.nabteb.gov.ng,” he added.
He further noted that candidates can also create personal accounts and complete the registration independently online, while schools are allowed to carry out bulk registration after obtaining login details from state offices.
“Payments and registration completion are to be carried out through student.nabteb.gov.ng,” he said.
The NABTEB Registrar advised schools, parents, guardians, and prospective candidates not to wait until the final days before completing the registration process, warning that delays could lead to avoidable difficulties.
He also stressed the importance of following all registration guidelines carefully and ensuring that candidates’ details are submitted accurately.
Mohammed added that members of the public can visit the nearest NABTEB state office or use the official registration portals for further assistance and clarification.
He reaffirmed the board’s commitment to using technology to improve examination administration and service delivery across the country.
