Jigawa Govt Raises Ward Heads’ Allowance to ₦10,000

The Jigawa State Government has given its approval for a significant increase in the monthly allowances provided to ward heads (Maiunguwa), raising them from ₦3,000 to ₦10,000.

This approval was formalized in a State Executive Council resolution, which was presided over by Governor Malam Umar A. Namadi.

According to the official statement, “the Council has approved the increment of Jigawa State ward heads (Maiunguwa) allowances from N3000 to 10,000.”

This development is seen as a reflection of the administration’s dedication to supporting traditional institutions and acknowledging the crucial role that ward heads play at the grassroots level.

Governor Namadi explained that his administration’s inclusive approach ensures that no community is overlooked in the collective effort to build a stronger Jigawa State.

He emphasized that ward heads serve as the frontline representatives of the traditional institution, providing leadership within their communities and assisting in the implementation of government directives for the overall development and well-being of their people.
