JAMB Arrests 3 for Faking UTME Results with AI

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has arrested two candidates and a parent for allegedly falsifying 2026 UTME results using artificial intelligence and other digital tools.

The announcement came as the board released results for 632,788 candidates who sat the exam on April 16.

According to JAMB spokesperson Fabian Benjamin, the suspects manipulated official SMS result notifications to alter scores and mislead others.

“Currently, two candidates and one parent are in custody for engaging in result falsification using AI and other electronic means,” the statement read.

JAMB warned that tampering with result messages is a criminal offence and urged candidates to rely only on its official SMS channels—55019 and 66019.

GoNews had reported earlier on how to check JAMB 2026 UTME results.
