The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has released the approved minimum Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination cut-off marks for universities across the country ahead of the 2026 admission exercise.
The approved benchmarks were announced on Monday following the 2026 Policy Meeting on Admissions to Tertiary Institutions held in Abuja.
According to the list released by the board, Pan-Atlantic University recorded the highest minimum cut-off mark among universities with a benchmark of 220.
Several other institutions adopted 200 as their minimum admission benchmark for the 2026 academic session.
These institutions include University of Benin, University of Lagos, University of Ibadan, University of Nigeria, Covenant University, Air Force Institute of Technology and Obafemi Awolowo University.
JAMB explained that the approved figures only represent the minimum thresholds required for admission consideration into tertiary institutions.
The board, however, noted that universities remain free to set higher cut-off marks for highly competitive courses such as Medicine, Pharmacy, Engineering and Law depending on institutional requirements and available admission quotas.
The annual policy meeting organised by JAMB usually determines admission guidelines and benchmarks for universities, polytechnics and colleges of education across Nigeria.
