Iran launched another wave of missile and drone strikes against Israel early Wednesday, while also directing attacks toward several Gulf States overnight, according to military and government officials.
Rocket warning sirens sounded repeatedly between midnight and the early hours of the morning across the greater Tel Aviv area as Israel’s air-defence systems worked to intercept incoming projectiles.
Israel’s emergency service, David Adom, said there were no immediate reports of casualties.
The Times of Israel reported earlier that rockets launched toward the country were either successfully intercepted or fell in uninhabited locations.
Iran also carried out strikes across parts of the Gulf region during the night.
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defence said its forces intercepted seven ballistic missiles and seven drones in different areas of the kingdom.
In Kuwait, the Ministry of Defence confirmed that four drones were intercepted, while another drone crashed in an open area.
Air-raid sirens were also reported in Bahrain.
Iranian news outlet Tasnim News Agency, which has close ties to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, described the barrage as the most intense wave of attacks since the conflict began.
Meanwhile, the Israel Defence Forces said its air force on Monday eliminated a drone-launch team in western Iran shortly before it could deploy drones toward Israeli territory.
The Israeli military added that its forces are operating continuously to target Iranian infrastructure used to launch ballistic missiles, as part of efforts to reduce attacks on Israel.
