Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has pledged decisive action to tackle water scarcity across the state, following an inspection of key water treatment facilities.
The tour, which covered major plants including the Tamburawa treatment facility, was aimed at assessing operational challenges and identifying solutions to improve water supply.
According to a statement issued Tuesday by his Chief Press Secretary, Mustapha Muhammad, the visit forms part of the government’s effort to guarantee safe and adequate water for residents.
During the inspection, the governor observed several issues, including leaking pipelines, faulty machinery, and outdated equipment affecting performance.
Yusuf assured that all identified problems would be addressed, reiterating his administration’s commitment to restoring efficient water supply systems.
He also revealed plans to partner with CGC, a Chinese firm with expertise in water infrastructure, to develop long-term solutions.
The governor stressed that improving access to clean and safe water remains a top priority, promising that no effort will be spared in ensuring residents benefit from reliable water supply.
