Gov Mutfwang Hails Jonah Jang on 80th Birthday

Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has sent his best wishes to former Governor Jonah Jang on his 80th birthday, hailing him as the visionary behind the modern development of the state.

The Governor’s message was shared on Sunday in Jos through a statement from his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Dr. Gyang Bere.

Mutfwang spoke of Jang as “a reliable and dependable elder statesman, a strong pillar of support, exceptional mentor, spiritual and political leader who continually guides many to serve God and humanity in sincerity.

“I celebrate a great leader, a father, figure to Plateau and a man whose life reflects deep faith in God and unwavering service to humanity.

“As you mark your 80th birthday, I join your family, the Church, and the good people and government of Plateau in thanking God for your remarkable life of service, dedication and purpose.

“Your life stands as a shining example of integrity, courage and commitment to the collective good.

“Indeed, you are a symbol worthy of emulation, a beacon of hope, a father of modern Plateau and a passionate advocate for the progress and unity of Plateau and the entire Middle Belt.”

The Governor also offered prayers for Jang’s continued health and longevity, hoping he remains a source of wisdom for the growth of both Plateau and Nigeria.

Jang, a retired Air Commodore, previously served as the military governor of the old Gongola and Benue states before his tenure as the elected governor of Plateau from 2007 to 2015.

He also represented the Plateau North Senatorial District in the National Assembly from 2015 to 2019.
