FRSC Warns Motorists Over Kano–Zaria Road Construction

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Kano has issued a cautionary advisory, urging motorists and residents to exercise prudence and patience due to ongoing reconstruction and rehabilitation efforts along the Kano–Zaria Road corridor.

This advisory was formally communicated in a statement released by CRC Abdullahi Labaran, the Public Education Officer of the Command, acting on behalf of the Sector Commander.

According to the statement, the current road rehabilitation work spans the stretch from Karfi to the Naibawa Flyover. This development is anticipated to cause temporary disruptions to the smooth flow of traffic along this frequently used route.

CC Idris Mohammed Lawal, the Kano Sector Commander of the FRSC, implored motorists utilizing the road to maintain composure and cooperate while navigating through the affected areas.

He specifically cautioned drivers against parking indiscriminately and engaging in other actions that could impede traffic flow and worsen congestion along the corridor.

“Motorists are advised to remain patient while passing through the construction zone and avoid any activity that could hinder the free movement of vehicles,” he emphasized.

Lawal further underscored the critical need for drivers to strictly adhere to traffic regulations, maintain proper lane discipline, and comply with instructions provided by traffic control personnel deployed along the route.

He added: “Drivers should adhere strictly to all traffic rules, maintain lane discipline, and obey directives from traffic control officials stationed along the road to ensure safety and orderly traffic movement.”

The sector commander highlighted that the FRSC is actively collaborating with other security agencies, as well as the construction company responsible for the project, to effectively manage traffic and minimize inconvenience for road users throughout the rehabilitation period.

He also urged members of the public to promptly report any road obstruction or traffic-related emergency to the FRSC, ensuring a swift response and intervention.
