A luxury bus powered by compressed natural gas (CNG) was badly damaged after an unexpected explosion at the Lagos Garage Terminus in the Mando area of Kaduna State.
Eyewitnesses said the blast occurred suddenly, leaving the vehicle heavily wrecked and debris spread across the busy transport hub. The loud explosion immediately drew the attention of commuters, traders, and residents in the area.
Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene to assess the situation. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported, a development many consider surprising given the extent of the damage.
Authorities have yet to determine the exact cause of the incident. However, the explosion has raised fresh concerns about the safety of CNG-powered vehicles, particularly within Nigeria’s public transport system.
Investigations are expected to focus on vehicle maintenance, fuel system safety, and adherence to existing regulations.
