2026 JAMB UTME: Ogun Police Deploy to 72 CBT Centres

Security has been tightened across Ogun State ahead of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), as police operatives are deployed to all 72 accredited CBT centres.

The examination, conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), is scheduled to run from April 16 to April 25.

According to Police spokesperson, Oluseyi Babaseyi, the deployment forms part of a broader security strategy focused on intelligence gathering, early threat detection, and rapid response.

He explained that the plan is designed to ensure a secure and orderly environment before, during, and after the examination.

“In line with the directive of the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, psc, FCSS, MNIPR, all Area Commanders within jurisdictions hosting CBT centres have been placed on heightened operational alert and directed to take full charge of security management within their areas.

“They are to ensure strict supervision of deployed personnel, sustained patrols around examination environments, and close coordination with Divisional Police Officers, tactical teams, and JAMB officials to ensure seamless conduct of the exercise.”

The police also warned that any form of examination malpractice or disorderly conduct would attract immediate arrest and prosecution.

Commissioner of Police Bode Ojajuni reassured residents of comprehensive security coverage and urged candidates to adhere strictly to examination rules.
