Two travelers sustained injuries when suspected bandits launched an attack on a group returning from a condolence visit along the Gusau-Tsafe road in Zamfara State.
The incident was brought to light in a post shared on X on Sunday by security analyst Bakatsine.
According to the post, the travelers were on their way back from Kaduna after attending a funeral when armed men ambushed them near Magazu in the Tsafe Local Government Area of the state.
Among those in the group were Imam Ridwan Umar Danau, Mallam Sirinbai, and Hassan Musa.
While no one was killed or abducted during the attack, two members of the group suffered gunshot wounds.
Bakatsine reported that Mallam Sirinbai was shot in the leg, and Hassan Musa sustained gunshot injuries to both his arm and leg.
The injured victims were promptly transported to the Federal Medical Centre, where they are currently receiving medical treatment.
