Security operatives have arrested two suspects in connection with the killing of cows and the recovery of meat believed to be stolen in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State.
According to sources, the suspects—identified as Sylvester Kuman and Nyitor Akaangee, both from Udei Village—were arrested around 1:00 p.m. on March 22 after security agencies acted on credible intelligence.
The arrests followed reports that cattle had been illegally slaughtered in the area, prompting a swift response from operatives who traced the suspects.
During the operation, items suspected to be cow meat were recovered from them, further linking them to the incident.
Authorities also disclosed that preliminary investigations are ongoing to determine the full details surrounding the case, including identifying the rightful owners of the cattle and whether the act is connected to a larger criminal network.
Meanwhile, security agencies have stepped up efforts to track down other individuals who may have been involved, as investigations continue.
