Troops have restored calm following a clash at Iware market in Ardo-Kola Local Government Area, bringing the situation under control after a brief disturbance.
The update was shared on X by security analyst Zagazola Makama, who cited security sources on the incident.
According to the report, the clash occurred around 2:45 p.m. on March 24 after authorities received a distress call about a fight at the market. The confrontation reportedly involved suspected armed Fulani men who were marking Sallah before tensions escalated.
“On arrival, troops discovered one person with injuries and immediately evacuated the victim for medical attention,” a source said.
Makama disclosed that troops from the 114 Battalion, working alongside personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and local hunters, were able to contain the situation.
“Security operatives have since taken over the area, carrying out regular patrols to maintain peace and reassure residents,” he added.
Residents have been advised to remain calm, comply with the law, and cooperate with security agencies by providing timely and useful information to help prevent further unrest.
