Troops Nab 3 ISWAP Suppliers in Kwara

Troops of the Nigerian Army have apprehended three individuals suspected of acting as logistics suppliers for the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State.

The operation was revealed in a post shared on X on Tuesday by security analyst Zagazola Makama, who referenced information from security sources.

According to the report, the arrests were made by personnel attached to Operation Savannah Shield at about 7:35 a.m. on March 15 at a Forward Operating Base in Kaiama.

Sources indicated that troops initially detained one suspect who was allegedly in the process of arranging the delivery of three motorcycles to a terrorist group.

Subsequent investigations led to the capture of two additional suspects, believed to be affiliated with ISWAP/Boko Haram, who had reportedly come to the area to take possession of the motorcycles.

The suspects were said to be preparing to transport the motorcycles to terrorists operating in Nuku village.

All three individuals are currently being held in military custody, while further investigations are ongoing to establish the full scope of their roles and any connections to other members of the network.
